Grendel's Sÿster Hats off to Markgraf for this bizarre outburst of maniacal Ur-metallic energy suffused with obscure legendry from Baden. Favorite track: Burkart Keller von Yburg.

vaporgirl1976 This is a really fun record, with some nice variety in the riffing to keep it interesting. I’m not familiar with Cirith Ungol, but it seems to be that the vocalist of this band is doing their style of vocals. I loved them though, so perhaps I should check them out too! Favorite track: Die Nixe des Wildsees.

ramenrocker It is always invigorating when something innovative happens in Black Metal. Even more so, when it still feels familiar. This is definitely the case with Markgraf's full-length debut.
Captivating RIFFS will carve their way into your mind. Ravenous and unorthodox drums (First Wave, anyone?) will kick you in the guts. And enthralling, Cirith Ungol-esque vocals top this unique blend of Metal off wonderfully. Favorite track: Die Felsen.
